She is only three months old now, yet I am anxiously awaiting the day when she is old enough to appreciate her new companion Violet. I only hope I am able to find Little Violet for her at a reasonable price. I wish LeapFrog had not discontinued these wonderful learning toys. I purchased two of these because toys like this become worn out after a while. Neither one came in a box nor did they have an instruction booklet. Only one came with the cable which is necessary to connect to the internet to personalize Violet. This is why I am giving this product a four-star instead of a five-star rating.”

Morgan A wrote “When I purchased this I was probably more excited approximately it than my baby was. He’s still pretty little & is more interested in things he can put in his mouth. But he loves the noise & light on it, & it’s not the same music every time he pushes the button so it keeps him interested.
When I received it home I started setting up the connect app on my computer & fought with it for the better part of 3 hours to finally determine that it was not being recognized by the app. Once I received a replacement toy, the app finally recognized that there was a new toy, yet then would not load the pages correctly. I switched to a different computer & after downloading adobe it worked. The assist section of this toy are absolutely useless, yet just use your basic troubleshooting skills & you’ll figure it out eventually.
I finally received Scout set up, & my son absolutely LOVES him. My son’s still at the age where he wants to put everything in his mouth, & he drools a bit, so I wish the electronic part could be taken out & detached to allow easier washing. And the Velcro that holds the electronic box inside the toy could be a little better put together. The pieces aren’t very wide & it fits the electronic piece in the toy so snug that it keeps wanting to open up.
Other than that, I think it’s a tremendous toy.”

However, my 21 month old son doesn’t really like scout yet. Not to say he hates humor anything, yet scout just hasn’t really caught his interest. Customization is easy. Violet’s voice is friendly, upbeat, yet not annoying. Songs are really short (I think my daughter’s attention span can handle longer songs) & there isn’t as much variety as I would like. My daughter likes them though. Sometimes she turns on Violet’s music & then goes to play with other toys just because she likes to hear the music.
This is one of the few toys we bring with us in the car, since its soft so if she throws it it won’t damage our car, & probably won’t injure her if we were in an accident, yet it moreover keeps her attention during the drive.
She gets tired of Violet saying the same things & singing the same songs, so we customize her often. I’m glad its so effortless to do since we have to do it a lot.
I only wish Violet was easier to clean. Babies & toddlers are almost always sticky from food or something & obtain sick a lot. In order to keep Violet from getting too dirty or too germy we can only play with her at certain times. You can’t throw Violet in the wash like other stuffed animals, & if you clean her with a cleaning solution you can’t rinse her off. I spray her with Lysol disinfectant & let her air out for a satisfactory long while. So far she looks like new even though we’ve had her over a year.”
