LW wrote “I first saw this play gym in a magazine ad & fell in love with the idea it has a piano component & is able to grow with baby. To my delight a few months after we were gifted the play gym at my baby shower. I set it up as shortly as my baby started kicking her legs (4 months old)and she loves it! I want to list a few things I like & don’t like approximately this gym.
PROS:
- Bright clear colors
- Fun upbeat music to encourage play (2 modes: continuous play & play only when keys are hit & 2 volumes)
- The mirror has satisfactory reflection (compared to all the baby mirrors on toys I own, this is the best one for quality)
- It has 4 loops for toys on the mat as well as the toy bar
- Baby can easily reach the toys from bar
- Fast & effortless set up/take down
- Mat is effortless to clean
- It has 3 functions! (tummy time, back, & sitting)
CONS:
- Mat is smaller in size (this doesn’t bother me, yet may bother some)
- Comes with only 4 toys & 2 of them could be more engaging (bird is only a rattle & lion does nothing)
- The mirror is not removable as it is sewn on
- Some exposed complex plastic baby could roll into
Overall, I would say that it has more pros than cons for me & I love that it is different from other play gyms. With that said, I donate it 5 stars because I love it & so does my baby!”
Alex L wrote “This is a really impressive activity gym for babies. Our baby started playing in this gym & kicking since one month old. He is almost 4 months now & loves kicking & playing here even more. He would bat & grab the hanging toys while his legs would be busy kicking. Every effortless to assemble & the mat is machine washable. I love that the piano can alter position in the future when baby is able to sit better so he can sit & use his hands on the piano. This is the best gym for babies to stimulate their development. We are very pleased with this purchase.”
Amelia P wrote “Even before my son could bat at the hanging toys he was kicking away & checking himself out in the mirror. Then when he learned to move his arms & reach up for the toys he was batting them around like crazy. I still remember being so pleased when he started unclenching his little baby fists & rolling the ball on the elephant & clanking the coins on the frog. This would keep him entertained for quite a while so I could finally eat something or just simply have my arms free from my very fussing baby for a bit. I would & have recommend this to friends & my friend’s baby girl loves it too!”
Anna wrote “I bought this toy for my 3 month old as she was starting to kick a lot. She loves it!
It didn’t take very long for her to obtain the cause/effect part of it. She has been playing with it for approximately a month now — loves it & hasn’t gotten tired of it yet. I was a bit concerned that I won’t like all of the noise it makes. But it really isn’t annoying at all. It reminds me that she is pleased & playing!
The reason for 4/5 starts — only two the the hanging toys make much sense. The other two just seem like pieces of plastic for decoration. But I didn’t buy it for this reason!”
SB82 wrote “My daughter was 3 months when she received this for Christmas & she loves it! She is now 5 months old & still enjoys it quite a bit. It’s wonderful in many ways — 1) it encouraged her to reach for & grasp objects (the toy bar has nice sized toys for little hands); 2) it encourages activity with kicking the piano & rewarding that exercise; 3) you can put the toy bar down for tummy time & you can take the bar off & put it on a blanket; 4) you can sit the piano up once the child is sitting independently (which my daughter has almost mastered so we’re switching the position of the piano soon). The toys easily come off the bar to take for traveling as well. The activity mat serves so many functions with only buying one thing. I’d highly recommend it – a tremendous gift or a tremendous toy to buy. I’m confident that my daughter will obtain many more months of use out of this product in one way or another.”
Divya wrote “I am glad i received this to replace the fisher price rainforest mat. The kick piano unquestionably keeps baby entertained. He is 3 months as of now. The mirror is excellent, he is always thrilled to watch himself in it. Now compared to the fisher price rainforest mat, this is way better. The baby actually see himself in the mirror, the hanging toys are visually better placed. The mat itself is more compact which is satisfactory considering, the amount of space baby toys & gear takes up. I prefer the colors on this compared to the garish green on the rainforest mat.”
Pokedot21 wrote “We registered for the Baby Einstein playmat & were very excited to obtain it for our shower. However after having my son & him playing on it you could tell he was very bored. In an attempt to entertain him more & have something that could grow with him I purchased this mat. HE LOVES IT! It keeps him entertained for at least 30 minutes without him getting bored. The music isn’t annoying & the best part is that it converts from laying on his back to tummy time & the piano can lay flat when he gets the hand of sitting up right. I would recommend this mat to anyone new parent. Well worth the money! I’m recommending it to several friends of mine who are expecting!”
