Liz wrote “This is the best toy purchase I have ever made! I bought it when my daughter was 7 months & it is STILL her favorite toy 3 months LATER! She loves being able to walk everywhere she wants with it. I HIGHLY recommend this toy!!! I usually never write reviews yet I had to for this thing. I love how well constructed it is & it’s not huge & gawdy like other plastic walkers that you stick your baby in.”
Vanessa R wrote “I’m kinda indifferent approximately what to write approximately this particular piece. My little man LOVES playing with it, & it’s very manageable. Unlike other walkers that I’ve seen at other stores, this piece doesn’t have smaller pieces that could obtain lost or broken. It’s very sturdy & one piece. The only issue that I have with it is that the wheels are complex to turn on certain carpets. Obviously, if you have shag carpets in your home, this won’t work at all. It will just obtain stuck & your little one won’t be able to use it. From what I can tell, short carpets, hardwoods & tile floors are best for this.”
Johanna M wrote “We bought this walker for our son because honestly I strongly dislike plastic-crap toys that being said I had high expectations for this toy. I expected it to hold up to an eight month old learning to stand & walk behind it. Well, when this toy transitions from carpet to flooring there is a small lip on the back of the walker where it started to catch & then lift away from the toy. I found this to then start to splinter & flake off (No Bueno with a crawling toddler) onto the floor/carpet. I pulled as much off as I could to keep him from picking at it & trying to eat the wooden flakes.”
H. Spraut wrote “My 11 month old recieved this toy as an early birthday gift from his grandparents today. He loves to push things & has recently started pulling too. The second my husband had the handle attached he was off pushing this adorable toy all over the room. This evening he was sitting on the floor in front of it pushing/pulling it at arms length trying to figure out what was up with the crocodiles.
tremendous push toy.”
Gwoodisu wrote “My son is developmentally delayed & at 20 months is not walking or standing. I decided to collect push toys until we found one that motivates him to stand & walk. This is by far the best one we have gotten our hands on. Even better than the one the pediatric physical therapist brought us to try. It does not fly out from under him. It goes with his slow pace. I love that it isn’t battery operated with lots of bells & whistles. These would only distract him from the purpose of the toy, which is to obtain him walking.
The quality is exceptional. I know that it will hold up through more children to come. You just can’t beat the quality for the price.”
Nyfolks wrote “My son really likes this toy yet as a parent, you must be prepared. It is VERY LOUD!! My husband is always asking “Who bought this thing?!” Hahahahaha. So if you have a large space & don’t mind loud toys, go for it. Otherwise, skip it.”
Zzztop wrote “My daughter took her first steps a few weeks before her 1st birthday yet we were having a really complex time getting her to do more than a step or two. We bought this as birthday present & were impressed with the sturdiness of the walker (didn’t tilt when she pulled up on it) as well as the superior quality. A lot of the older reviews mentioned thibgs falling apart on the walker yet we’ve had this for 6 weeks now & it’s been great! My daughter has become much more confident on her feet. We love this walker!”
Purple Yo wrote “My 8 month old stood up for the first time in early December so I ordered this for Christmas. I thought it would be a couple more months before she was ready for it, yet she was immediately delighted with this toy. The first time we stood her up in front of it, she grabbed the orange handle & received super excited. It doesn’t roll too quickly for her yet we do need to stick close by since she’s not even really cruising along furniture yet on her own. It is a well-made wooden toy with bright gender-neutral colors. I had to attach the handle yet it was a simple assembly & took only a few minutes.”
C. Johnson wrote “My daughter loves this toy. It is pretty well made, yet two of the clackers have stopped working & we have had had it for less than six months. I made the naive mistake of assuming that Melissa & Doug made their toys in the USA. This is made in China as is most of their toys that I look at in stores. We have stopped buying their toys as a result.”
Canadeelo wrote “My 12 month old loves this walker. It is the best walker for laminate or wood floors. The plastic ones slip & tip easily. It is the perfect weight & doesn’t tip or move super fast– it does roll easily & sometimes he walks quite swift to keep up with it yet it’s teaching him a lot approximately balance. He is very amused by the alligators & loves to sit beside it & roll it back & forth or play with the bugs on the little activity bar. He has no problem getting up & walking it across the room & squeals with delight when he does. The only problem with this walker is that it only goes in a straight line & is too heavy to turn so my son can walk it until it hits a wall or furniture, then I have to reposition it or sometimes he will push it back the other way. Despite this, he still finds it pleasant & I love the quality of the toy & we have been very pleased with it.”
Lieb1109 wrote “Among my mom’s group I’d say this walker & the Vtech sit to stand walker are the most popular. I decided to buy this one for my daughter’s first Bday. She was just starting to cruise at this time. I decided on this over the Vtech because it felt much more sturdy & my daughter could push this along slowly without it slipping out from under her. The vtech is much lighter so when she’d stand behind it, it would move so swift that she would slip & tumble. Well it turns out my brother bought her the vtech for her Bday. I am glad that I kept both because she loves them both, still uses them both a lot & they are better suited for different situations. I’ll focus on the Alligator push toy now
It is GREAT for smooth floors, hardwood, tile & sidewalk because it is SO sturdy. It’s perfect for a child who is just beginning to cruise & is still not very stable. Because it’s on the heavier side, hey could lean on it without it speeding away, which would cause them to fall.
Not the best for thick carpet. Now that my daughter can walk well she can push it around in rooms where we have a thicker carpet, yet most people buy these when a child is just starting to walk & if you have mostly carpet in your house it probably won’t be very effortless for your child to push it around.
My husband was concerned that my daughter would pinch her fingers in the mouth of the alligator, she never has yet her little friend did. She was holding on to the alligators mouth & then leaned on it. I didn’t think it was too huge of a deal, it injure i guess yet she was fine. It wouldn’t stop me from buying it.
The only thing I’m bummed approximately was that all the other M&D alligator push toys I’ve seen are very vibrant in color, the blue part of mine looks like they only did one coat of paint & left it.”
