For another reviews of this board games for children, here you go:
Laraf wrote “My boys received this from a friend of the family at Christmas. Hands down, it’s the best game for families with children in the 3-6 range. We’ve tried a lot of supposedly family games yet this one lives up to its name. My favorite aspect is that all players work together yet still have independent moves/spins. Most preschool games are very tedious for adults–that couldn’t be further from the truth here. I promise you will not cringe when your child asks to play this game (no matter how many other things you have to do around the house.) We love this & will play long after our children have finished preschool.”
ABCreations wrote “This is one of our favorite games. My six year old loves looking for the different objects on the board. He is always excited to obtain a Goldbug card. I like that this game teaches teamwork. You search for objects together & you end the game as a group. Also, Busytown is tremendous for building a child’s vocabulary. As a parent, you can point out many different objects on the board. However, you do need A LOT of floor space for this game. The board is big!”
Tenskicat wrote “We bought this for our 3 year-old, yet our 5 & 7 year old love it too! They even obtain it out & play when my husband & I aren’t playing! It’s a pleasant game of searching & I love that it promotes team spirit. Everyone in the family is looking for items & the pawn advances based on the group effort. Lots of pleasant & would unquestionably recommend! Our 3 year-old did break the board, yet we were able to tape it right back up.”
KDMask wrote “I’m a speech therapist that is always looking for tremendous games that moreover can assist produce language & articulation skills. This has everything. The board is very sturdy & the kids love to put it together on the floor. Everyone takes a turn, & most can’t wait to obtain a “bug” so they can find things hidden in the tremendous illustrations. You can use the cards alone as a hunting game for team play, or the spinner for more competition. I’ve found 4 years old & up are the best age for this game. I moreover use the Richard Scarry books in conjunction with the game when we are talking approximately people/places/things. I can’t stress enough the sturdy pieces & box. There are a lot of flimsy games out there & this, thankfully isn’t one of them!”
Joshua B wrote “This is easily one of the best kid’s board games I have ever played.
While not naming names of other classic games, there is no thinking involved in those games; you just pick a card & move to the color or spot on the board & after 5 or 10 turns etc someone wins.
In Richard Scarry’s Busytown, all of the players compete against a usual opponent (in this case, a group of pigs). Therefore, you & your child(ren) obtain to work together.
Also, there is some thinking involved, albeit minimally when a child has to select which direction he/she would take at a couple places on the board, yet much more actively when someone spins & lands on the Goldbug avatar. Then there is a race to find as many wrenches or hot dogs or construction cones..etc as possible. The artwork is wonderful & its pleasant trying to find the requested items.
For those that are fans of Richard Scarry, there is even a hidden Goldbug somewhere on the massive board.
A terrific purchase, I highly recommend.”
Gillian wrote “I didn’t know what to expect with this game as I had never seen it before. My 4 year old daughter & I love to play it. I love that everyone wins or looses together as it is often a battle with games when I win & she looses. It’s a tremendous way to teach cooperation. I just wish we could play without her 1 year old brother trying to climb all over the very long board & messing things up. Oh well, overall a huge hit in our household.”
